In January 2025, people all across the country are being encouraged to celebrate "National Mentoring Month," which is a special time to remember how important it is for kids to have grown-ups who help them learn, grow, and become leaders. H.R. 838 is like giving states a special permission slip to use school money in a more flexible way to help kids do better in school, as long as they tell everyone how they are doing every year.

S. 309 is a plan that lets states ask for permission to mix certain money from the government to try new ways to help kids do better in school. States have to explain their idea clearly, and there's a special rule that these ideas get checked in 60 days to make sure everything is fair and helpful for all students.

The bill wants the Education boss to study how COVID-19 rules affected kids with special learning plans at school, like if it changed how well they did on tests, and then tell the grown-ups in charge what they find out. It's called the "Think DIFFERENTLY About Ending Learning Loss Act."

The bill says that from September 15 to September 21, 2024, everyone should thank and celebrate people who help at school, like community school coordinators, because they do a lot to help students and their families. They make things better at schools, like grades and health, by bringing the community together.
